American Black Film Festival Kicks Off On Miami Beach
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Roll out the red carpet and grab the popcorn, the 16th Annual American Black Film Festival is in full swing on Miami Beach.
The prestigious ABFF attracts nearly 5,000 artists, executives and film fans from around the world.
Leading media companies will be offering panel discussions, workshops and symposiums for those interested. Also upscale social events and exclusive entertainment scattered around Miami Beach will complete the experience.
The festival is composed of world premieres of narrative, documentary and short films. It promotes urban culture and sheds light on the contributions of black directors, actors and writers in the film industry.
This year for the first time ever there will be a Webisode challenge.
Founder Jeff Friday said actress Tracee Ellis Ross will serve as this year's festival Ambassador.
A limited quantity of passes and tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
