American Airlines Cancels South Florida Flights Thursday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- All American Airlines flights into Miami International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport were canceled for Thursday ahead of Hurricane Matthew.
Limited departures will take off before noon Thursday, but all other departures are canceled after that, according to a spokeswoman for the airline.
The airline plans to resume operations at 8:00 a.m. Friday and be back in full operation at noon Friday.
Travelers who are affected by the cancellations can re-book without fees or request a refund.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport announced late Wednesday evening it is suspending all service starting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Amtrak has also temporarily suspended services in the South.
The Silver Star 91 & 92 (New York City - Miami), Silver Meteor 97 & 98 (Miami - New York City), and the Auto Train 52 & 53 (Lorton, Va., - Sanford, Fla.) are cancelled for Thursday, Oct. 6, and Friday, Oct. 7. No alternate transportation will be provided.
