America To Honor Our Military Veterans Friday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - On Friday, American will pause to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces.
A number of events are being held around South Florida to show our appreciation.
On Miami Beach, there will be a Veterans Day parade and picnic.
The parade, which begins at 11 a.m., travels Ocean Drive from 5 Street to 14 Street. At 14th Street it will then turn and head to the Flamingo Park Baseball Stadium, at 1435 Michigan Avenue.
At the stadium there will be a ceremony and picnic which will include a demonstration from the All-Veterans Parachute Team.
In North Miami, there will be a Veterans Day ceremony at the North Miami Veterans Memorial at Griffing Park located on West Dixie Highway at NE 123rd Street. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
U.S. Marine Corps Colonel William J. Truax, Jr., of the United States Southern Command, will deliver the Veterans Day message.
In Ft. Lauderdale, there will be a Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by the William C. Morris American Legion Post 36 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sandy Nininger Statue, located on the Riverwalk next to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
Also in Broward, there will be a Veterans Day event at Nova Southeastern University.
The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. on the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, 3301 College Ave., in the Don Taft University Center. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
