Alligator That Bit Teen In Central Florida Caught
GENEVA (CBSMiami/AP) — The alligator responsible for biting a teen on the head in a lake in central Florida on Monday has been captured.
Andrew Hudson, a Winter Springs resident, estimated that the alligator that bit him on the head while swimming in the Little Big Econ State Forest was about 10 feet long. During his Monday swim, Hudson, thinking he had kicked a log, actually kicked an alligator that later came up behind him and jerked him underwater.
Hudson, who was treated for puncture wounds on his head, was off by two feet—the 12-foot-long alligator, believed to be the same one by Joy Hill a spokeswoman for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation, was trapped and killed Tuesday.
The gator, according to Hill, responded to bait near where Hudson was bitten and showed little fear of the trapper.
The alligator will be processed for its meat and hide.
Unless other alligators at the park appear to be aggressive, there will be no more gators trapped.
