MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- SWAT teams and K-9 units scoured several blocks on the ground and a police helicopter searched from above as two suspects elude authorities the morning after a violent armed robbery in Miami.
A perimeter was set up between N.W. 71st Street to N.W. 76th Street, along N.W. 2nd Avenue, after Miami Police said three men with guns robbed a couple who lives in the area as they arrived home Thursday night, June 23rd.
The crooks demanded the couple's belongings and stole their Ford F-150.
Friday morning, an officer saw the truck with three men inside who fit the victims' description of the thieves.
As the men were ordered out, they took off running. The officer was able to apprehend one of them and detained him for questioning.
"Right now we don't know if the two that are at large are armed," said Ofc. Kenia Fallat of Miami Police. "But we are taking every precaution due to last night's incident, we believe that they may be armed and we're just asking everyone to stay inside their homes, not be alarmed, but if they see something unusual to immediately report it."
The victims were not hurt.
