Alguero: "Zero Doubt" Dion Jordan Would Be Better in Buffalo, New York, or New England

As Joe Philbin heads into Year 4 as coach of the Miami Dolphins, with a 23-25 record in tow, one Miami sports columnist thinks the team is at a "depressing" place.

"We are three years down the road on a coaching staff and I felt better about the job that Joe Philbin did after his first year where he didn't have a ton of talent, where there were obvious holes on the roster," The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero said on The Joe Rose Show on WQAM. "Now what we have is a team that needs rebuilding and never arrived, so it's a little disappointing."

While he notes drafting has been an issue, Salguero thinks the team's lack of development has also been a major factor.

"It's drafting and then having the coaches develop those draft picks," he said. "I have zero doubt, zero doubt, that if the New England Patriots or the New York Jets or the Buffalo Bills had drafted Dion Jordan, Dion Jordan would be a much better player and a more productive player than he is with the Miami Dolphins."

Salguero spoke of how Bill Belichick and Rex Ryan would've found a way to use him and with all the talent in Buffalo, he would've made an impact.

"I use Jordan as an example because he's the guy that sticks out like a sore thumb -- the third overall pick that you gave up a second-round pick to move up and get."

Jordan has just three sacks and 39 tackles in 26 games over his first two seasons in the NFL.
