Alon Alexander, accused of multiple rapes and sex trafficking, denied bond in Miami federal court
MIAMI - A federal judge on Friday denied bond for Alon Alexander, one of the three Alexander brothers facing multiple rape and sex trafficking charges.
Judge Eduardo Sanchez ruled that Alon, 37, posed a flight risk due to his ties to Israel, where his parents and wife reside.
Alon's twin brother, Oren, will have his bond hearing on Jan. 7, while their older brother, Tal, was previously denied bond in December.
The Alexander brothers are prominent figures in real estate and private security, with Oren and Tal managing high-profile celebrity clients.
They are accused of sexually assaulting dozens of women across Miami Beach, New York and other cities over the past decade. Federal prosecutors have identified at least 40 victims.
At Friday's hearing, Alon's attorney, Howard Srebnick, argued for his client's release under strict conditions, including confinement to a Miami-Dade apartment with private security guards, an alarm system and an ankle monitor.
However, prosecutors countered that no conditions could guarantee Alon would not flee. Judge Sanchez agreed, leaving Alon in federal custody as he awaits trial.
The allegations against the brothers include accusations of drugging and assaulting women.
A recent civil lawsuit in Colorado alleges that Alon raped a 17-year-old during the 2017 Aspen X Games while Oren sexually assaulted another woman in the same hotel room. Defense attorneys claim these lawsuits are financially motivated and deny any wrongdoing.
The brothers are also facing state charges in Miami-Dade, where prosecutors allege they used their wealth and status to lure and assault victims.
Their next federal trial date is scheduled for March, with additional lawsuits and criminal cases still unfolding.
