MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- It's one of the hottest gifts this holiday season but several major airlines have determined they're too hot.
Delta, United and American Airlines announced they have joined the growing list of airlines banning hoverboards onboard their flights, for both checked-in or carry-on luggage.
There's concern that the lithium batteries powering the popular self-balancing scooter could start a fire and the internet has recently exploded with videos showing the toy spontaneously catching fire.
Jet Blue, Hawaiian and Virgin Airlines have already banned the board.
