Adopted Families Count Their Blessings
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – There are hundreds of people across South Florida counting their blessings this holiday season thanks to the generous donations of people who stepped forward to Adopt-A-Family for the holidays.
Children who otherwise might not have received any toys under the tree will be opening brand new gifts on Christmas morning and families will gather around the dinner table to enjoy a Christmas meal and that's because South Florida stepped up to ease the burden of those in need. This holiday season, the Neighbors 4 Neighbors Adopt-A-Family program helped match more than 350 families. Now these families will truly enjoy the holidays the way they should be enjoyed.
If you didn't get a chance to Adopt-A-Family this season, you can still help by donating to the Neighbors 4 Neighbors Family Fund.
The Family Fund is a lifeline for those who need a small hand up to become self-sufficient. Family Fund payments are given in the form of gift cards for food and clothing.
This year, The Family Fund has distributed over $10,000 in gift cards for food. Food assistance has become the most frequent request and Neighbors 4 Neighbors always needs help to continue filling this need.
As you review your end of year giving, consider a donation in any amount to The Family Fund.
