Ad Begs Jaguars to Sign Tebow
JACKSONVILLE (CBSMiami) – At 1-9, there's little Jacksonville Jaguars fans have to cheer for or look forward to each week. So, some fans decided to try to convince owner Shad Khan to give them that hope they are looking for in the form of…Tim Tebow.
The fans took out a full-page ad in a local newspaper asking Khan to sign Tebow, who is currently unemployed and from Jackonsville. In exchange for signing Tebow, the fans said, "We Will Fill The Stadium."
While it's true that signing Tebow might generate some fan excitement, from a football perspective he would add nothing to the Jaguars and their long-term plans.
The Jaguars, like every NFL team, need a strong-armed, accurate quarterback and neither of those qualities applies to Tebow, according to NFL scouts. Tebow has been unemployed since getting released by the New England Patriots earlier this year.
Jaguars management has repeatedly said they will not sign Tebow, even if given the opportunity. Plus, at this point in the season, it's unlikely Tebow would even want to sign with any team at this point.
