FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Actress Bailee Madison is happy meeting young fans on an impromptu walk through her hometown of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea recently.
The 15-year old just wrapped filming all winter long in cold Canada shooting her Hallmark Channel series "Good Witch" and the sequel to Hallmark's feature film "North Pole 2".
Bailee chose her favorite childhood breakfast place, Country Ham and Eggs , as the spot for a chat with CBS4's Lisa Petrillo.
"So you grew up a country Ham and Eggs in Fort Lauderdale," asked Petrillo.
"I did. This is basically where I grew up," said Bailee. "I would hop around these booths. There are photos of me when I was little from here. This is home, it's good to be here again."
In addition to her many TV roles through the years, Bailee has had an impressive movie career appearing in such films as Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Parental Guidance and Brothers just to name a few.
"For me it's realy rare to know that I can live my dream and travel here and there but I'll always tell my mom when I feel it's time to go home. I know I can come home and that's a really great blessing," she said.
Bailee loves seeing friends and family. On their walk though the beachside town, her sister, brother-in-law and niece Riley stopped by to say hello. Mom Patty is always by her side. Every where they walked, Bailee was stopped by fans of all ages.
Bailee has also been recognized for her philanthropic efforts with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, helping raise money for kids with cancer, originally founded by a young girl named Alex who lost her battle with the disease.
"So I've always said the moment I started this business that the movies, the press was a plus but what we're here to do is use our voice for the better. It's always about kids helping kids and Alex did that," Bailee said.
You can catch Bailee Madison on the season finale of "Good Witch" on the Hallmark Channel this Saturday night at 8 p.m.
