Actor David Cassidy Charged With DUI In S. Fla.
ST. LUCIA COUNTY (CBS4) - Former teen heartthrob David Cassidy has bonded out of a South Florida jail after being arrested in St. Lucie County on a DUI charge.
The 60-year-old actor, who lives on Ocean Drive in Fort Lauderdale, posted bail and was released from the St. Lucie County Jail around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, the former "Partridge Family" star was driving south in a white Mercedes Wednesday night when a trooper pulled him over for weaving and swerving on the road.
After he was pulled over, the trooper wrote in his report that Cassidy was apologetic, appeared nervous and confused and smelled of alcohol. He also told the trooper that he had has a glass of wine at lunchtime and a hydrocodone pill at 3:30 PM.
Cassidy then agreed to take several field sobriety tests and failed them all, according to the report. He also took two breathalyzer tests, which he also failed. The first breath test measured .139 and the second was .141 which are both greater than the .08 legal limit.
Officers then searched his car and said they found a half-empty bottle of bourbon in the back, according to an arrest report.
Cassidy was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain a single lane and open container. He was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail where he bonded out a few hours later.
