Accused Rapist Arrested
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The arrest of southwest Miami-Dade man accused of raping three teenage girls at gunpoint has led police to suspect there may be more victims out there.
Erick Levant Wilson, 46, has been charged with four counts of armed sexual battery, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of armed kidnapping.
The attacks took place at two South Florida parks over the summer.
"It's possible that this individual has done this to other victims. If so, we want to speak with them," said Miami-Dade Police Det. Javier Baez.
In the first case, a 17-year-old girl claimed Wilson forced her to have sex with him at Caribbean Park in Southwest Miami-Dade on June 5th.
Two and a half months later, police said Wilson targeted two teens at Southridge Park.
Cops say he demanded money from the young women, but when the teens said they didn't have any, he led them to the bleachers and made them perform sex acts on him and each other multiple times.
"These women either were too scared too even yell," Baez said. "You have an individual holding a gun to them and that's how probably he was able to perform these acts on these women."
Police said there's often a false sense of security in public settings, including parks.
"That why we urge anyone, man or woman, when they walk in parks, or exercise outdoors, to make sure they do it in a lit area," Baez said. "Make sure other people know they are out there."
According the arrest affidavit, Wilson confessed to the crimes.
