Accusation Of Winslow Masturbating In Car Led To Drug Arrest

NEW YORK (CBSMiami) – New York Jets tight end Kellen Winslow, Jr. will likely be hearing from the National Football League office in the coming days.

Winslow played collegiately at the University of Miami during the U's championship runs.

The details of what led up to Winslow being arrested last November in East Hanover, New Jersey were finally released Friday and the arrest was set in motion when police were called to the scene because a woman thought she saw the Jets player masturbating in his car.

According to the police report, posted by NewJersey.com, an officer found Winslow in his Cadillac Escalade slouched down in his seat moving around. When the officer tapped on the window, Winslow moved into an upright position, according to the report.

When asked what he was doing, Winslow responded that he was looking for Boston Market and was lost. The officer said he noticed several empty plastic containers of "funky monkey" and several plastic bags of "Mr. Happy" scattered throughout the front seats.

Once backup arrived, Winslow was patted down for weapons, but none were found. When asked about the "Mr. Happy" and "Funky Monkey," Winslow responded that the NFL doesn't test for it and he smokes it at home.

Winslow allowed officers to search his car where they found eight empty plastic containers of "premium funky monkey, five small plastic bags containing Mr. Happy potpourri, and one empty plastic bag of K2 XXX."

Winslow was released by the officers that evening and he left without incident.

East Hanover Police said lab reports on "Mr. Happy" tested positive for synthetic marijuana and Winslow was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana.
