Abducted Miami Girl Found Safe, Woman May Be Charged
MIAMI (CBS4)- A four-year-old girl who was abducted from Miami overnight has been found safe.
Officers issued an Amber Alert for Cassandra Thomas late Friday night. Police found her in Orlando five hours later. Thomas was not hurt.
According to detectives, the girl was with her father and Kammany Sinlapasai in a caravan in the area of 1744 N.W. 1st Court in the early morning hours. The father stepped away from the vehicle leaving Sinlapasai alone with the little girl.
That's when Sinlapasai fled the scene with girl in the vehicle.
Kammany Sinlapasai is an acquaintance of Thomas' father.
Police expect to charge her with child abduction, but they said they're not sure why she took Thomas.
