AA Flight Heading To MIA Delayed Due To Alleged Unfit Crew Member
SAO PAULO (CBSMiami) -- American Airlines flight 930 headed to Miami from Sao Paolo on Sunday was delayed due to an allegation that a member of the flight crew was "unfit for duty", according to a statement released by American Airlines.
The airline investigated the allegation and the flight's departure was delayed.
According to the airline, because of the delay the crew could not continue to Miami International Airport due to rest requirements so they decided to depart from Sao Paulo and head to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Once they arrived in Puerto Rico, the crew was switched out and they continued to Miami where the flight carrying 178 passengers and 13 crew members arrived Sunday afternoon.
According to a statement by American Airlines, "We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and the delayed arrival into Miami."
