MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – Sun Life Stadium's new look will debut during Saturday night's preseason game. The $400 million renovation project started at the end of last season and the work isn't over yet.
More than a 1,000 construction workers have been working around the clock to get Dolphins stadium ready for the pre-season opener.
"We've always said there is going to be a few rough edges as we approach the opening and yes we have a couple of rough edges," said Bill Senn, Sr. VP Stadium Renovations.
On Thursday, the Dolphins CEO led the media on a tour of the renovations. It was clear the stadium won't be completely ready by game time.

The Dolphins renovations began in January and it's massive. They brought fans nine rows closer to the field, created five new clubs, built 12 new concessions and 38 new bathrooms.
They've replaced every seat in the house, some with leather recliners. That's right, those who fork over a half million dollars for a suite can watch the game as if they were in their living room.
"This is another iconic environment where we expect to become the global destination for Dolphins fans, college football fans, international soccer fans, music fans, etc, etc," said Miami Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel.
From parking, to food, to the line to the bathrooms, the Dolphins are revamping in hopes of motivating fans to leave their living rooms to see a game in person.
"If you've got to wait for every one of those experiences and they are bad experiences you are probably going to stay home. So we want to make every part of that experience the best it can be," said Garfinkel.
The Dolphins said the construction will be completely wrapped up by September 27th which is the first home game of the season. As for those big changes like the canopy, massive HD TV's, booming audio system, that'll be ready by next season.
