A Change Is In The Air

MIAMI (CBS4) – This week's stormy weather pattern will begin to change on Wednesday.

There is still a bit of moisture lingering in our area, and an upper level low pressure system spinning near the panhandle, which could trigger a shower or two. However, unlike the last couple of days, the rain chance on Wednesday is only about 20 percent and most of the showers that develop will be focused over the inland areas.

CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez says we will enjoy a little more sunshine Wednesday which will help to warm us up to the low 90s. When you factor in the humidity, it will feel closer to the triple-digits.

A layer of Saharan Air is expected to drift in from the east Wednesday afternoon and evening. This dry air mass in combination with high pressure will lead to hazy skies across South Florida over the next few days. The high pressure along with the African dust will keep the rain chance low through the end of the workweek. Highs will soar to the low to mid 90s in some spots.

By this weekend we could see the usual spotty afternoon storms due to some extra moisture on the way.
