5 US Airways Flight Attendants Taken To Broward Hospital
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4)- Five US Airways flight attendants were transported to Broward General Hospital after reports of an unknown odor on board an aircraft at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
According to the airline, the flight was from Fort Lauderdale to Philadelphia, but the incident occurred prior to boarding. No passengers were on the aircraft.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units from the airport were dispatched just after noon Wednesday.
Flight attendants complained of ill effects from the mystery smell. BSFR rescue units transported a total of five flight attendants to Broward General Medical Center as a precaution to get checked out.
BSFR's Regional Hazardous Materials Team boarded the aircraft and took readings, which came back
According to the airline, the smell may have been linked to the auxiliary power unit.
