47-Year Old Miami Woman Delivers Triplets
MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) —A 47-year old Miami woman gave birth to triplets .
Sharon Lewis said she was surprised to learn she was pregnant again.
That's because Lewis already has two older children. Doctors say it's rare for a woman her age to have conceived the babies naturally without fertility treatment.
Lewis said she was getting a sonogram about four months ago when the technician said she saw a baby A and a baby B and then said, I need another specialist in here to check this out.
"Now the tears rolled.. I was okay with A and B but then she said C," said Lewis.
She said she couldn't believe it happened naturally and with no fertility drugs.
"I was good once I grasped it I was okay," said Lewis. "I had a great pregnancy."
Dylan, Denere and Denard were delivered early — at 30 weeks — on March 18th due to Lewis' Preclampsia, or high blood pressure. Each weighed about two pounds. They were cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit at Holtz Children's Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

The triplets left the hospital on Tuesday.
Lewis, a school cafeteria monitor, says the triplets were a big surprise, but "it was a wonderful surprise."
Lewis's doctors said Lewis is a statistical phenomenon. The chances of getting pregnant after the age of 44 with IVF is 1.2 percent so this is a miracle times three.
"It's a miracle she got pregnant. She had three. They are fine and she is fine," said Doctor Salih Yasin.
