4 Taken To Hospital After MIA Jet Fuel Spill
MIAMI (CBSMIAMI/AP) — Four workers at Miami International Airport were taken to the hospital after being exposed to jet fuel in a hanger Wednesday afternoon.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reports that the men were working on a Mexicana aircraft in a maintenance facility when the spill occurred. Two of the men were taken to Hialeah Hospital, the others to Cedars Hospital. Both facilities are set up to handle hazmat situations.
Chief Jose Herrera says the workers were being treated as a precaution. There was no early indication that any of them would suffer lasting effects.
It is not known how much fuel leaked, or what caused the spill.
Crews were working on the clean-up Wednesday evening.
