$344 Million Mega Millions Jackpot, Fourth Largest In Game's History
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Florida residents who usually play the Florida Lotto or Powerball with dreams of hitting it big may want to plunk a few bucks down on the multi-state Mega Millions game this week.
This Tuesday, Dec. 10th, the jackpot is an estimated $344 million, the fourth largest prize in the history of Mega Millions.
The jackpot has been building since it was last won in Maryland on October 1.
It's the largest jackpot since the world record $656 million in March, 2012. That jackpot was split three ways by winning tickets in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
