1 Arrested, 2 Others Detained In Nuclear Engineer's Stabbing Death

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – As friends come to grips with the stabbing death of Alexander Restrepo, Miami-Dade Police have made another arrest.
Late Friday night, Miami-Dade Police took 22-year-old Alejandro Esteban Tapia into custody.
Tapia is being charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
Two additional people have been detained by police. They are being questioned by investigators to determine their involvement, if any.
Alexander and his brother Chris were at a party in Southwest Miami-Dade when they were jumped by a group of men. A verbal altercation became physical. Alexander suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso. His brother suffered cuts to his head and hand before he was able to break free.
"He was the most selfless guy you never meet and he would teach me to be like him," Chris said.
Alexander, a nuclear engineer, is remembered as a kindhearted, positive, fun-loving man.
His life was cut short over an argument that's still unclear.
Police had already arrested 24-year-old Edwin Rios and charged him with second-degree murder for his connection to Alexander's death.
