Tropical Depression 8 Fizzles
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Depression 8 fizzled early Saturday morning into hardly a remnant low. The depression formed Friday afternoon and soon after made landfall moving across inland areas of Mexico.
The center of the storm made landfall around the area of Tampico, Mexico Friday afternoon.
Some areas of Mexico received 3 to 5 inches of rainfall —with isolated amounts of 10 inches in Veracruz.
Now, forecasters are watching the remnants of Tropical Storm Gabrielle over the eastern Caribbean for signs of development. The remnants will not move toward the United States.
Another wave has emerged from Africa and it has a high chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within five days.
