Two Dead In Coconut Creek Shooting, Police Officer Injured
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Coconut Creek Police Chief Albert Arenal spoke to the media Saturday afternoon about this morning's fatal shooting in which one of his officers was injured.
Police confirmed two people died on the scene and another person was injured and taken to the hospital.
The shooting happened in the 4200 block of Northwest 57th Drive. Police have not said what led up to shots being fired.
OFFICER SHOT:
Chief Arenal said officer Andrew Renna, 30, responded to a domestic call at around 7 a.m. to an incident reported as a stabbing.
"Renna arrived at the scene and immediately took rounds from a suspect," Arenal said.
Police confirmed officer Renna was struck with shotgun fire and one of his lungs was punctured. Renna is in stable condition at Broward Health North. Arenal said Renna did not require surgery at this time.
Other officers arrived and the suspect, identified as Andrew Roseman, dropped the shotgun and surrendered to police.

"The suspect is in custody and being questioned by our agency," Arenal said.
One person was found dead inside the home, along with a dead pit bull. Police also found what appeared to be an improvised explosive device.
Law enforcement also found several rifles and ammunition inside the home, Arenal said.
Chief Arenal also said they found a dead woman in the driveway next door.
Additionally, Arenal said, a male was also found in another driveway in critical condition. He was transported to Broward Health North.
No other details were immediately available as police continue to investigate the shooting.
