BSO Deputy Shoots, Kills Aggressive Pitbull
NEAR FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Broward Sheriff deputy was forced to fire his gun at an aggressive dog who was trying to attack him and others in a Broward neighborhood.
According to BSO's Keyla Concepcion, an aggressive pitbull was chasing after people in the 1500 block of NW 27th Avenue near Fort Lauderdale on Friday shortly after noon.
One of the victims being chased by the dog jumped on a county bus to escape and another person had to run across the street.
When a deputy arrived, the dog went after him too, which led the officer to fire at the dog and kill it.
Nobody else was hurt.
The dog's owner, who lives at 2660 NW 15 Ct., is being charged for having a dog running at large and will receive a notice to appear in court, said Concepcion. The owner will also face fines by Animal Control.
