1,300 Pot Plants Seized During Dade's "Operation Machete"
MIAMI (CBS4) – More than 1,300 marijuana plants were collected by Miami-Dade police in a day long sweep of grow houses.
On Wednesday, officers hit a number of homes suspected of having hydroponic labs inside simultaneously as part of Operation Machete.
At day's end they had broken up 25 labs and made 25 arrests. They also confiscated seven firearms, eight grams of marijuana, 30 grams of cocaine and nearly $32 thousand in cash.
A total of 1,356 marijuana plants, which weighed more 11 hundred pounds, were bagged up. Police said the street value of the seized pot was $4.5 million.
