ISTANBUL, Turkey (CBSMiami) -- Turkish police rounded up more than a dozen people within Turkey's capital city of Istanbul on suspicion of taking part in a deadly attack at the country's biggest airport.
44 people were killed and at least 230 others were hurt after three men, armed with automatic weapons, grenades, and suicide vests, fired their weapons and detonated explosive devices inside the Ataturk airport.
On Thursday, 13 people were taken into police custody in a sweep of 16 different locations around Istanbul.
As details emerge, the belief is that the attack was coordinated by terror group ISIS, as CBS News correspondent Holly Williams reported.
CIA Director John Brennan all but assigned blame to the organization, saying it "certainly bears the hallmarks of ISIL's depravity," using the alternate acronym for the group.
As investigators now begin to identify the gunmen, U.S. sources confirmed to CBS News that the attackers were not Turkish nationals, saying at least one of them was believed to be from Chechnya.
Turkish officials told news agencies that the bombers were from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
