11 Year Old Calls Police After Teen Robbers Break Into Hollywood Home
HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) - An 11 year old boy's quick thinking led to the arrest of three teenagers who broke into his Hollywood home Thursday night.
Luis Gutierrez Jr., who was home alone, ran underneath his bed and called his father when he heard the sound of shattered glass at his home on the 4800 block of Johnson Street. His father told the boy to call 9-1-1.
Gutierrez did as he was told, and stayed on the line with police while the teens ransacked the home.
"He was a brave little kid," said Hollywood spokeswoman Lt. Nikki Coffin told CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald.
Police arrived on the scene just in time to arrest the three suspects, who are not being identified because they are underage.
Gutierrez told police where he was hiding, and officers were able to rescue him through the bedroom window.
Charges against the three teens are pending.
