11 Cuban Migrants Picked Up In Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) - A group of migrants seeking a better life in America were picked up Monday afternoon after they came ashore on Hollywood Beach.
Michael Flanagan, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said the 11 people their agents and Hollywood police detained near Charleston Street and Ocean Drive are believed to be from Cuba.
Flanagan said they received calls from the public and the police about the migrants who arrived in a small blue boat which contained oars and large water bottles.
The migrants were taken by border protection agents to their station in Dania Beach for questioning.
