1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Miami Barbershop Shooting
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- One person was killed and another hospitalized following a shooting Sunday night at a Miami barbershop.
The shooting happened about 7 p.m. at MegaCutz Barbershop, located at 3485 N.W. 17 Avenue.
According to detectives, 23-year-old Tony Howard walked into the barbershop and got into an argument with 22-year-old Christian Martinez who was getting his hair cut.
Suddenly, both men exchanged gunfire.
Howard was killed on the scene.
Martinez was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition. Police said Martinez had a concealed-weapons permit.
Witnesses said it seemed like Martinez was targeted.
"It sounded like we were in the wild, wild west," said witness Michael Fernandez. "I can't believe, truly you want to put what happened, that's what happened. The guy went in there to assassinate somebody."
The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. Detectives are still investigating if there is a relationship between the two men.
