Metro expanding tap-to-exit program after it improves safety in pilot phase

LA Metro's tap-to-exit program, which makes riders tap to leave stations to stop them from taking trains without paying fare, led to a 40% reduction in crime when it was established at the North Hollywood B Line station. Now, the transit agency is expanding to program on the heels of that success -- in hopes it will improve safety at other stations in the county.
