"Major gas leak" prompts evacuation near Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica
Santa Monica Police and Fire Department crews rushed to the scene of a "major gas leak" on Santa Monica Boulevard near the highly-trafficked Third Street Promenade area Monday afternoon. The area was expected to be closed for at least five hours as repairs were underway.
