Two sets of body camera footage show officers search the school before confronting the shooter.
"We strongly believe there was going to be some other targets, including maybe family members, and one of the malls here in Nashville," said Nashville Police Chief John Drake.
Three 9-year-old students and three staffers were killed in the rampage at The Covenant School, a private Christian grade school. Police say they shot and killed the shooter.
The gunman, identified only as Phillip F., legally owned the pistol used in the attack, and police say he was also found dead at the scene.
Three people were killed and two others wounded in a series of shootings, authorities said.
Five people were injured and one succumbed to his wounds, police said, adding that one person was detained at the scene in connection with the gunfire.
