Police say officers were flagged down Thursday at about 9:30 p.m. on Pacific Avenue, north of Pacific Coast Highway, about a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the victim of the crash followed the hit-and-run driver and witnessed the vehicle run a red light and crash into a second vehicle on 20th Street E and Avenue J-18 just six minutes later.
Kuen Ham was crossing Miramar Street at Union Avenue just before 6 a.m. Monday when she was hit by a car that was turning left onto Miramar Street. The car dragged the woman about 15 feet.
A man was reported to be in lanes at the Terra Bella Street onramp to the southbound 5 Freeway at about 5 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash prompted authorities to close several right lanes of the freeway during the crash investigation.
At least one person was left trapped and had to be extricated by Los Angeles County firefighters.
The crash happened at about 3:30 a.m. near the Temple Avenue exit of the southbound 57 Freeway. Images from the scene showed the wreckage of a red SUV wedged underneath the back of a big rig's trailer.
Andrea Dorothy Chan, aka Andrea Dorothy Reyes, was charged with a felony count each of hit-and-run driving resulting in death and vehicular manslaughter.
Chan Wook Park, 87, died after he was hit by two cars on Feb. 22 in the area of 8th Street and Westmoreland in Koreatown.
