Steve Jobs took the stage in 2007 to introduce the world to the iPhone. Apple claimed it really had something special in its "entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display...letting users control iPhone with just their fingers."

Apple touted the iPhone 3GS as "the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet." The iterative hardware improvements were emphasized in this model, which brought a quicker, smoother user experience as well as sufficient graphic processing power for high quality gaming.

With the iPhone 4, Apple introduced its high resolution "Retina Display" and front-facing camera for "FaceTime" video calling. Sporting a new sharp-cut, rectangular design, the iPhone 4 was also the first model to be given a major design change.

The iPhone 4S was released in coordination with Apple's iCloud, a service that allows for wireless syncing and storing of music, pictures and contacts via Apple's remote servers. This model also saw major improvements in camera quality and the addition of "an intelligent assistant that helps you get things done just by asking" named "Siri."

Thanks to a new aluminum design, the iPhone 5 is the "thinnest, lightest iPhone ever." This newest release is also Apple's first iPhone with a larger display (4" as compared to the 3.5" on all earlier models).
