Yucca Valley Man Arrested In Sexual Assault Of Girl, 12

CLAREMONT (CBSLA.com) — A Yucca Valley man has been arrested for the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl, police said Friday.

Joseph Chandler Davall, 34, was arrested just before 7 a.m. in connection to the assault on the night of March 21.

Police said Davall entered the victim's home and "proceeded to physically and sexually assault the female juvenile victim while she was home alone."

Davall was named as the suspect after evidence recovered from the crime scene matched him, according to Claremont police.

"Detectives worked throughout the night to compile information and obtain a search warrant for the suspect's home," spokesperson Mike Ciszek said.

He was arrested after authorities tried to pull him over, but instead he led them on a short pursuit, ending at his residence.

"The search warrant was later served at the home and additional evidence was located and recovered that was related to the Claremont crime," Ciszek said.

Davall is being held at the Claremont City jail on $100,000.
