Yucca Valley Man, 31, Accused Of Raping 59-Year-Old Acquaintance
YUCCA VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — San Bernardino Sheriff's Department deputies have announced the arrest of a 31-year-old Yucca Valley man accused of raping a 59-year-old woman.
Deputies responded Thursday to a residence in Yucca Valley to investigate a claim of a woman who said she was raped in her home six days earlier by a man she knew by the name of Carlos.
The exact nature of the relationship between the two was not immediately clear.
Officials said during their investigation they were able to positively identify man believed to have assaulted the woman as Carlos Flores, 31, of Yucca Valley.
The deputies subsequently made contact with Flores. During their interview with Flores, deputies were able to obtain evidence that they said supported the victim's allegations.
The detectives arrested and booked Flores into the Morongo Basin Jail on a rape charge.
Bail was set at $250,000, the Sheriff's Department said.
