Authorities said three men armed with handguns broke into the home, tied up them up and ransacked the home, stealing about $10,000 in cash and jewelry.
Officers arrived at the home in the 13800 block of Archwood Street near Colbath Avenue at 3:40 a.m. after the suspects had left, said Sgt. Steve Gottschak in the LAPD Van Nuys Station.
The suspects, who were 25 to 30 years old and wore black masks and black clothing and carried handguns, had fled the home by the time officers arrived, police said.
Translators were called to the scene to help detectives question the women, who reportedly only speak Armenian.
Police said they found traces of motor oil in the home, but it was unclear whether that was the liquid used on the women.
Gottschak said he was not certain about the extent of the women's injuries.
