Sharon Truzman, who survived deadly Israel music festival attack, describes horror of that day
MIAMI -- A woman who survived the deadly music festival attack in Israel spoke about the horrors she went through.
Sharon Truzman shared her survival story at an event in Miami.
Truzman says initially the music festival goers didn't know what was happening.
"The missiles start hitting. People didn't worry too much. It's like really a normal situation at the end of the day in Israel it is normal. Then we were next to the open field to all ready go home and we started hearing gunshots from afar," she said.
Truzman was one of thousands of people at the music festival who ran for their lives that day.
"We knew it was groups. It was a lot. There were thousands and thousands of terrorists coming to us trying to kill us. Literally, that's how it felt. They were coming for us." continued Truzman.
The conflict between the Jewish state of Israel and Hamas has been tumultuous for decades. But on that Saturday, October 7th, Hamas terrorists broke through the barrier at the border between Israel and Gaza, launching an unprecedented attack. Gunmen killed civilians in the street and kidnapped hostages, in some cases parading them in the streets.
260 festival-goers died at the hands of Hamas militants.
