Woman Suspected Of Racist, Anti-Catholic Graffiti In Orange County
ANAHEIM (AP) — Anaheim police say they've arrested a woman suspected of scrawling racist and anti-Catholic graffiti on churches and other buildings in Orange County.
Sgt. Rick Martinez says 53-year-old Kim R. Henry of Fullerton was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of felony vandalism and damage to property in order to violate civil rights.
Martinez says the woman is suspected of painting "hateful" graffiti at least nine times last month on two churches, the Orange County Housing Authority and other buildings in Irvine, Santa Ana, Brea and Anaheim.
The messages targeted Catholics, Asians, blacks and Mexicans.
Martinez describes the woman as "troubled" but won't say whether she is believed to be mentally ill.
An arrest was made after someone recognized a possible suspect from a surveillance video.
