Woman Killed In South LA After Being Struck By Truck, Bus
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Officials say a woman was struck by a truck in South Los Angeles Saturday before she was then run over by a bus and killed.
The woman was struck around 5:30 p.m. in the 9100 block of South Central venue, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"Witnesses said the woman may have been hit by a private vehicle," Humphrey said. "As the motorist got out to check on her, the woman was run over by a bus."
Humphrey said the woman suffered major trauma and died at the scene.
The truck driver reportedly fled the scene but later turned himself into authorities.
