Woman Says Someone Tossed Kitten Out Of Car Window On Freeway
CORONA (CBSLA.com) — A Good Samaritan said she saw someone apparently toss an 8-week-old kitten out a car window while driving on the 60 Freeway Wednesday around 11 a.m.
She was able to pull over and rescue the scared kitten. The Good Samaritan said she was shaken up as well. She risked her own life on the freeway to save the kitten.
"It was terrible, really scary," she said. "I'm driving and all of a sudden I see this thing fly past my windshield, tumbling through the air."
Rachel Kim, reporting for KCAL9, talked to Keri LaMar, the Good Samaritan who describes herself as a true animal lover. The day before rescuing the kitten, she rescued a dog.
LaMar said she was on the 60, between the 605 and 710, when someone in the passenger seat in the car in front of her tossed the kitten out the window.
"I saw what I thought was a tiny kitten flying in front of me. My adrenaline was pumping and I was just thinking, 'How can I save this cat?'", said LaMar.
She said other than some minor scrapes from the asphalt, the kitty was fine. She took the kitten -- now named Marvin -- to a vet in Corona.
"It breaks my heart that someone would do that," says LaMar, "I don't know if there's any hope for someone who would do something like that."
LaMar says she would also like to find the person responsible for throwing the kitten in the first place. She said she has already found someone to adopt Marvin.
