Woman Pleads Guilty To Calling In Bomb Threat To Stop Husband's Affair
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Lynwood woman who called in a bomb threat to stop her husband from flying to Atlanta to see another woman pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal charge.
Johnna Woolfolk, 50, admitted to calling AirTran Airways on Nov. 27 and reporting that her husband was carrying a bomb onto an Atlanta-bound flight.
"We had a fight and I called the airline and reported that he had a bomb to stop him from taking that flight to see another woman," Woolfolk told U.S. District Judge Jacqueline H. Nguyen.
The FBI stopped and questioned the woman's husband at the airport, causing him to miss his flight that day.
Woolfolk, who pleaded guilty to a single felony count of conveying false and misleading information, faces a possible maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when she is sentenced April 2, Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward E. Alon said.
