Woman Leads Deputies On Wild Car Chase
MORENO VALLEY (CBS) — A woman suspected of drunk driving led police on a wild car chase that began on Interstate 215 in Perris and ended at a Moreno Valley home Saturday, according to Riverside Sheriff's reports.
Perris officers first suspected Lisa Villa, of Mead Valley, of driving drunk shortly after 1:30 p.m. while she was traveling north on Interstate 215 at Cajalco Road. When they attempted to perform a traffic stop, the suspect sped off, Deputy Melissa Nieburger said.
Officers pursued the 41-year-old driver from Interstate 215 to the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway at speeds of up to 90 mph, with the woman frequently driving on the right hand shoulder to get around traffic. The pursuit eventually left the freeway and continued onto Frederick Street and Pidgeon Pass Road in Moreno Valley. It abruptly came to a halt, when the woman pulled onto the front lawn of home at 12315 Hythe Street, Nieburger said.
Villa was also wanted on a felony warrant for domestic violence, Nieburger said.
