80-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Sylmar
SYLMAR (CBSLA) — An 80-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Sylmar Wednesday night.
On Thursday, authorities identified Celia Rivera as the woman who was fatally injured in the collision.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to Hubbard Street and Dronfield Avenue where the collision occurred around 6:51 p.m.
According to police, Rivera was walking outside a marked crosswalk when a driver in a white Ford Mustang hit her and fled the scene.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A portion of Hubbard Street was closed as homicide detectives investigated.
