Woman Killed, Boyfriend Surrenders After 5-Hour Northridge Standoff
NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was in police custody Friday morning after he allegedly killed his girlfriend and barricaded himself in a home for nearly five hours.
The standoff began shortly after 12:30 a.m. in the 19200 block of Kenya Street in Northridge, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Officers were initially dispatched to the residence after neighbors reported a domestic disturbance.
"I woke up . . . and I hear this screaming and yelling like a woman being tortured, like being stabbed," a neighbor told CBS2's Kara Finnstrom.
