Woman Killed, 2 Critically Injured In San Bernardino Crash

SAN BERNARDINO (CBS) — One person was killed and two others were critically injured in a high speed crash in San Bernardino.

Authorities declared 25-year-old Nuvia Rivera dead on the scene late Thursday.

Rivera was traveling on Baseline Road near Meridian Avenue when a vehicle driven by Cecilia Sorto crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed into her car, San Bernardino police said.

Sorto and her 3-year-old son were transported in critical condition to Loma Linda University Medical Center, according to officials.

Police believe speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
