Woman Files 1st Official Complaint Within Limitations Alleging Cosby Sex Assault
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The first woman to claim comedian Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her within the statute of limitations came forward Wednesday with her attorney.
Chloe Goins, who was 18 at the time of the reported crime, filed an official complaint with the Los Angeles Police Department.
She claims Cosby assaulted her in 2008 at the Playboy Mansion after he had given her a drink that was drugged. Goins said she woke up in a bed naked with Cosby licking her toes and touching himself.
She said when the comedian realized she was awake, he pulled his pants up and left the room.
Goins met with detectives Wednesday for more than two hours and later held a news conference with her attorney.
The LAPD was not able to comment on the case but confirmed the complaint will be thoroughly investigated.
Goins joins more than 20 other women who have accused the comedian of sexually assaulting them.
"Why now? Because there is power in numbers. Because at some point when a young lady becomes abused, until there are others that come out to support that they have to say, it's a very scary thing, especially when you are one person against an incredibly rich and powerful man," attorney Spencer Kuvin said.
