Woman Breaks Silence About Detective Who Kidnapped, Raped Her
RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBS) — A young woman is breaking her silence about the Westminster detective who kidnapped and raped her at gunpoint two years ago in Fontana.
Erinn, who decided not to reveal her last name, was assaulted by former police detective Anthony Orban. She told CBS2's Greg Mills that she hopes to give other victims strength by speaking out.
"I was angry that I had been put in this kind of situation. I was humiliated because I had to recount my story so many times," she said.
Orban blamed the incident on his use of the anti-anxiety drug, Zoloft, which upset Erinn.
"I felt he should've taken it like a man, to be honest," said Erinn. "You got caught, now you're trying to get away with it? That really upset me."
Erinn is getting her life back together and working on a promising future for herself and her 5-year-old son.
"As of right now he just knows I put a bad guy in jail," she said.
She wants dedicate her professional life to helping other rape victims.
"It's very humiliating for the person who has been victimized. Your self-esteem takes such a hit during this. You start questioning yourself," she said.
Erinn said she went through a rough time after the rape, but things are slowly getting better.
"I get anxiety attacks. I still have to fight off depression every once in a while," she said.
Next week, Orban will be sentenced. He could possibly get life in prison.
"I'm not here to judge. I think he's probably in his own personal hell right now," she said.
Erinn will be in court to read her impact statement. She said she can't wait to look Orban in the eye and detail the damage he has done.
